    3. I have a Robert Allen, Jr. born 1703 in New Kent County, VA. I have his wife as Elizabeth Stokes. The only child I have for him is William Allen, born 1725. This Robert's parents were Robert Allen and Sarah Walker. Descendents of these folks (including me) can be found in the Franklin/ Madison/Jackson County area of northeast Georgia. Is this the Allen line you're referring to? Take care David. ----- Original Message ----- From: <bevgerding@yahoo.com> To: <GABANKS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 27, 2002 6:12 PM Subject: [GABANKS] Re: WILLIAM BURNS ALLAN > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: ALLEN, HUDSON,YOUNG, EDWARDS, BRYAN > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Aa.2ADI/583.586.2 > > Message Board Post: > > Hi My Robert Allen jr b. 1704 New Kent VA (note spelling- prior it was Allin) married Eliabeth Young and Hannah Edwards. 3. Dawn, Richard Chambers of Commerce GA, could probably tell you how to find the Hill cemetery. He states in his cemetery book of Banks county that they are buried in the W.C. Hill cementery of Banks county. John Clark Mason and Mary Frances Marett were my greatgrandparents through their daughter Susannah ("Sudie"). I have Mason data, but almost none for the Hills. 1. Re: [GABANKS] William Crofford Hill
    2. Hi- I just signed up for the Banks county page on Friday so I never saw this message. I am a little confused. So let me clarify. William Crawford Hill b. 1851 d. 1934 was born in Georgia? Where? His father is William Crofford Hill b. 1831 d. 1902 and he was born in Georgia? Do you know where? James A Hill was the brother to my husband's gr-gr-grandfather, Washington Floyd Hill. Their parents were a James (b. abt 1801) and Zelah Poole Hill both maybe born in SC or GA. After 21+ years of marriage, this is my family too! So I can relate. Anyway, I have also spoken to Mr. Chambers and am waiting to receive my cemetery book. I could look for your marriage record that next time I go to the State archives. That would determine if it is Marett or Mason. But your William could be a piece to this puzzle. Thank you for writing. I look forward to hearing from you. Dawn

He was married to Mary Elizabeth > Mariett, and married Susan Parker ? also in 1884 any information would be > appreciated. > _______________________________________________________________ This gentleman is part of my family tree also. He is my husband's great great grandfather. I have only encountered him as "Crofford Hill." Our line (mine by marriage -- my husband isn't too interested) goes thru his son William Crawford Hill who was born 22 Apr 1851 and died 12 July 1934. He is buried at the Homer Presbyterian Church in Homer. I have Richard Chamber's book "Cemeteries and Deaths in Banks Co, GA." I also had the pleasure of meeting him and talking about those Hills. In his book he indicates that William "Crofford" Hill's wife is Mary Elizabeth Mariett. I have never found a marriage record. I have not really looked for one though. I do have William Crawford Hill's death certificate (b1851 d1934). The death certificate indicates that his father was "Croff Hill" and that his mother's maiden name was "Miss Struese". For the life of me I cannot come up with anyone for miles and miles around the areas in which they lived with a name similar to that. Granted I could very well be wrong about my interpretation of the spelling; but not far enough off to be Marriet. I like the Marriet theory. William Crawford Hill (b1851 d1934) married Mary Etta Mason, daughter of John Clark Mason and Mary Francis Maret Mason. Oh, how often we find marriages with family links. If I am not mistaken, William Sr and family were in Laurens Co, SC prior to their arrival in Banks Co, GA. That is really about all I know about this family. I would like to know more since it is my children's surname. What can you tell me about your findings. Lomane Hill25185@aol.com > >
