She remembered him well. When she was a child she loved to sat on his lap and hear stories about the Civil War. Green Bush was wounded in the chest. They put in a creek of cold water to stop the bleeding. He was then sent to a hospital. He lived to be quite old and his civil war pension records are in the Texas Archives.

He did not seem to be with the rest of his family. Maybe he is buried with his real mom or something. My father in law said that he was indeed buried somewhere in Banks county, he said in Maysville maybe. I don't quite know where that is. Thanks!!! Nails Creek is a beautiful church! Went there Saturday. The William I need died in 1966 sometime. Thanks Betty Edmonds Lakemont GA

I believe that he may be the grandson of the man who built our house, Seth Strange Sr. The house was built in the late 1820s. There is a small family cemetary on the property. This is in Franklin Co. although the Stranges were very active in Nails Creek Baptist Church, just down the road in Banks Co.

My 2nd great gradmother was Mary Jane Broome also. I did not know her name was Mary I just had Jane. Our family line ended with her as we did not know her parents or much about her. I had been looking in the wrong census as I did not know the county where she and Markus settled with children. Also you indicated they had 9 children we only had records for 8. I would love to call you please E-mail me back as I would like any info you can give. What are you looking for specifically I would like to help you in any way I can. Were you wanting to know cemetaries or place of death for Markus wales Smith and Mary Jane Broom? Hope you are still out there. Linda
