This is a mystery. I also show (according to a book written by Julia Mize) that he married a Susan Parker. Speculation is that they had a son - Jesse Hill- born in October 1885. I have no concrete information on this, but relatives say that in a census from Oconee County, Ga. that it shows that Jesse was residing with his Father. William Crawford Hill that was married to Mary Etta Mason was my Grandfather. I am willing to share info with you. ----- Original Message ----- From: <mhg@alltel.net> To: <GABANKS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 28, 2002 2:58 PM Subject: [GABANKS] Re: William Crofford Hill > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Hill > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Aa.2ADI/746.2 > > Message Board Post: > > William Crofford Hill was my gggrandfather, according to my records he was born in Georgia in 1821. I do not know who Maybell Cotton Brocks' parents were. I am told that her parents are buried at Nails Creek Baptist Church in Banks County. I went to that cem about a month ago and there are alot of "Cotton" in there. I will look the next time I go. Down there. What I do know is that she was married to Edd Brock, she is buried with him and they have a double marker. Our connection is: Edd Brock's son William Harbert Brock who is buried right beside Edd and Maybell in an unmarked grave. Well, it is marked but there is no head stone, the Pastor of the church will not return my calls pertaining to William so I can mark it. I have no idea if Maybell was my William Brocks mom or step mom because I know no dates on William yet. William was my husband's grandfather that died in the 1960's. Betty Edmonds Lakemont GA

Rev. Moses Sanders born in England 1742 died 1817, founder of the Grove Level and Nails Creek and other Baptist churches and soldier of the revolutionary war "The Cross of Christ my Anchor". I've never seen his tomb or his son's, Moses Sanders jr. in Banks County, Georgia, but they were in good condition in 1952 when my great aunt visited them and the grave of Sara Ruth Sanders James in Henry County, Georgia. Sara was the daughter of Moses Sanders jr. and Elizabeth Harris Sanders and married David James. That's what I have and I hope it helps. -- craig
