I am new to the list and was trying to find proof ( I was told) that Frances Clementine Compton born May 15, 1874 was born here. Her father was Henry Milton Compton, also told that her mother was Melissa Wells. This was my grandmother (Frances) and there isn't much family to ask questions of. Can anyone help me. Thanks Jamie

Hello Reeds (by any spelling) My name is Helen (aka) Nell Logue and I am researching the Reeds. My family line is the Reeds of Mississippi and Texas mainly. A few went to California, and a few somewhere else. What I propose to do is get all of these Reeds into one large database and see if we can make any connections. That is where I will need your help. I need every Reed (by any spelling) to send me a GEDCOM or whatever information you have on the Reeds. I will call them "unattached Reeds" or something of the order. When I do make a connection then that bunch of Reeds will be put in my Reed Database. Until then they will be kept separate. As I add to the database I will make sure you are aware of the change. I hope everyone who reads this will participate. It is going to take a lot of hard work and I will need all the help I can get. What I want is Reeds from Alabama, Arkansas, NY, Michigan, Kentucky, any state in the United States. Any questions? If you are ready, I am. Let's get the Reeds rolling. Start sending your information any way you know how. GEDCOM is really a good way to send lots of information at one time. But if you have a better system, use it. Hope to hear from you Reeds soon. Helen (aka) Nell Logue

Does anyone know if the church has burial records they could check for me? If so, do you have the mailing address of the church? Appreciate any help. Dawn Brasfield

I am researching the family of William Morris, who lived in Banks County (and prior to its formation in Hall County) at the time of his death circa 1850-1860. Among his children were sons John E., William G., and Henry J. Morris, and daughter Elizabeth Wright Morris Jones (wife of Lewis Jones). The Jones couple were my gr-gr-gr-grandparents. William Morris' children were born in North and South Carolina between 1797 and 1810. I need to know where he came from and his wife's name, as well as any other information available. Any help would be appreciated! Debbie Stuart

Courthouse in Homer or the Commerce Library in Jackson Co. Don't bother with the library in Banks. They have maybe 5 books. If you have time check the Hall County Library in Gainesville it is very large, well indexed and has everything a genealogist needs. Depending on the time you are researching you may need to go to Franklin Co.
