Were there even medical schools in GA then? My thought is that in those days many docs learned by studying books, apprenticing, etc. It was nothing then like today. Martha Kendall Holmes

I know the Medical College of GA has been around forever. I know it has been in Augusta since the 1800's, but not sure when. I believe Emory is a Medical College as well.
