I wanted to explain to you about the new "automated" system that I put into the place for Baldwin County....and also help you with the duplicated messages you might be receiving. AUTOMATIC SYSTEM OF FORWARDING MESSAGES Here's how it works. Anyone posting a message to the "Gen Connect" Boards....Query, Bible, etc. on the Baldwin Site,....the message is sent automatically to the Baldwin List. The reason I like this, is that many people just don't take the time to go back and visit the Boards once they have posted their own query, and this helps keep the information available to more people. RESPONDING TO MESSAGES If you have something to respond to on any message, simply CLICK on the "blue" URL....and post your response there. It will go to the individual, and also back to the List. By doing this, your response will also be available for others coming along later. DUPLICATION OF MESSAGES 1)Now....some of you may have checked the BOX on the Query Board which says..."Notify me any time a new message is posted." If you did this, then you will GET TWO messages.....and you need to go back into the board....and "uncheck" the box! http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Baldwin 2)If a message is a response to your own query, then you'll receive it personally as well. There isn't anyway to stop this....just hit the delete button. I apologize if this is an inconvenience, but I feel the merits outweigh the in convenience. As a List Manager I get TWO notices on ALL mine....but I can quickly identify the ones coming which say: "New Taylor County Message" and just delete it without even opening.
