The book was published in 1997, so it is still under copyright.... published in Milledgeville, by Boyd Publishing Co. I bought mine last year from one of the larger online genealogical book companies, like Heritage......I'm sure it's still available It contains all the existing roll records of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Milledgeville, Ga, beginning with 1811 and the last are of 1876...as the name states, they are the roll records, and that's just what they are, although other things are listed as explaination of the comings and goings of the members..ie. married a sinner reason for leaving the church,.....sometimes deaths...no marriages, etc, as they have nothing to do with church membership. Some ministers are listed, some "stewards'', "leaders"....the records are rather hit or miss The church was built in 1809, rebuilt several times, ending at Hancock and Liberty streets in 1913. The original documents are currently housed in the first United Methodist church of Milledgeville. The slaves are listed in the index twice; once, under their own name (given) and again, under their owner's name.
