In looking up something for someone else, I just discovered that part of Baldwin County (1817-1826) came from Washington County---which was one of the Headright counties. Baldwin County itself was one of the "original" Land Lottery counties...in the Land Lottery of 1805. This area was then divided into smaller counties. Has anyone had any experience in researching the Headright Lands? I assume they would have been on the eastern side of Baldwin, nearest to Washington County I guess this just shows how complicated Land Research can be in Baldwin County!! Virginia
