At this point I would like to point out a few guidelines that we should all use when posting to the mailing list. 1. Please remember we were all new to genealogy research at one time. 2. Please be patient and refer to number one if in question. 3. No flaming. 4. No derogatory comments towards any person or persons on this list. 5. Older list members be tolerant of newbies. 6. Newbies be tolerant of suggestions. Please remember that this list is here for us to help each other. If someone has a question then by all means ask it. There might be someone on the list who has the answer to the question you are asking. They might hold the key to that brickwall you have come up against too. If there are any questions or concerns about the above please email me offlist at b6j3s4@bellsouth.net and I will be happy to address your concerns. Thanks. Saying that they are available simply means that they exist....that they ARE! It has nothing to do with WHERE they are. Call your local library, and ask the librarian if they have a genealogical dept...then, if they do, inquire if they have the census. Start calling around! Jennifer Sherwood Braswell jensgen@iol10.com : : Teresa, the newspaper(UNION-RECORDER) itself may have it in their files. : The library may have it, but just not online. : Also, you may try both libraries at the colleges, Ga Military College(GMC), : and GA College (GC&SU). : I would give you their contact info, but I do not have a local directory. : The colleges should have web sites, though. : : Jennifer Sherwood Braswell : jensgen@iol10.com : ----- Original Message ----- : From: Teresa Neaves <neaves@netdoor.com> : To: <GABALDWI-L@rootsweb.com> : Sent: Tuesday, July 18, 2000 7:49 PM : Subject: [GABALDWI] How best to obtain cited 1828 obituary? : : : : >From a print source entitled "Marriages and Deaths 1820 to 1830: : : Abstracted from Extant Georgia Newspapers" by Mary Bondurant Warren with : : Sarah Fleming, I obtained the following abstract: : : : : "NEVES, John. 66 years. died 10-10-1828 at his plantation in Baldwin : : Co., Ga. RIVERS (1824-1905) that was the second husband of Mary Jane DANIEL NEE RENEAU. I know Mary Jane DANIEL, widow of Robert Williams DANIEL (1810-1865) of Bethany, Jefferson County, GA married Winfield M. RIVERS sometime after R. W. DANIEL'S death 1865 and lived for a time possibly in Glen Rose, Somervell, TX before returning to Madison, Morgan County, GA ca 1892. According to my sources Winfield M. RIVERS is buried in Milledgeville, Baldwin County, GA. Any information is appreciated.
They are probably on film at the LDS....do a library search on the silver CD of the library holdings in Salt Lake, and see what years they have filmed. I know there are a bunch, for I've rented some myself...just don't remember the years.
