Still looking for info on these families...and any allied family contact...thanks for taking the time to read this...any teeny tiny clue/lead would be hugely appreciated...gail harris JOHN WILLIAM HARRIS (misc info (some not verified/documented) as of 26 October 2002 / bgh) Born 8 May 1855 in South Carolina / Died 7 Nov 1918 in Pasco County, Florida / Buried in Dukes Cemetery, Groveland, Lake County, Florida Parents listed on Death Certificate: Father - (john?) William Harris, born South Carolina Note - think john was later added - may not be accurate I suspect his father is William H. Harris, possible oldest son of William & Celia Roberts Harris who migrated from Colleton County, South Carolina (1850 Census) to Polk County, Florida (1870 Census). This William H. Harris is an entirely different "hunt" & have found lot of info on him, which indicates he was a very colorful character & the "ladies" man & probably a bigamist. Mother - (given name unknown) Langdale, born South Carolina Note - I suspect that his mother is Elizabeth "Betsy" Caroline Langdale, daughter of John & Jane Guthrie Langdale.found the Langdale's on the 1850 & 1860 & 1870 & 1880 census for Colleton County, SC.also found Wm. H. Harris & wife, Elizth C., & son, William, & daughter, Jane, on the 1860 census for Colleton County, SC, living next door to the Langdale' s.found "William Harris, age 16, living with Langdale's on the 1870 census.family rumor is that William H. Harris returned from the civil war & found his wife & daughter dead - possibly murdered during the war.he & his son then migrated to Florida - probably to Polk County, where William & Celia Roberts Harris had homestead, along with their daughter, Sarah Ann Harris who married John W. Costine. Harris of Mascott, Florida Note: I have been unable to find this family on the 1900 census for Florida.either they were omitted, living with another Harris family, the surname is totally misspelled, not in Florida at that time, or as I really suspect - the entire family was abducted by aliens.it is a huge mystery for me.I have additional info on marriages, cemeteries, etc. not posted here. Updated 121602 **041404 update: have since discovered that Tryphenia Wilson is the daughter of G. M. T. Wilson aka George Milford Troup Wilson.he is the brother of Susan Wilson.so Nancy C Watson & Tryphenia Wilson are 1st cousins.the Watson & Wilson families are from Lowndes/Irwin/Brooks county area of Georgia.migrated to Florida.Wilson family on the 1880 census for Orange Co, FL.Watson family on 1880 census for Sumter Co, FL.
