Parker died in the City of Augusta State of Georgia, Nov'r 1st 1873. he was born in the City of Savannah and said State, sometime in the year 1794, where his parents lived for many years. The writer and the deceased were boys together in that City. Scholars in the same school and companions in the amusements of our boyish days. The deceased was not fond of books, and in early life was of a roving and eccentric turn of mind and character. On the removal of his parents from Savannah sometime in the year of 1806, or '07, to the then New Purchase of lands of what was then called the Upper Creek nation of Indians (now the State of Alabama), the deceased left his parents, and domiciled himself with these sons of the Forest, who received him, and with whom he lived on terms of friendship, learning their language and adopting their mode of life. Years passed on, and the writer had not heard of him, until the year 1827, when, he found him among the lawyers of the Bar of the Southern Circuit of Georgia, near the Florida line; where he entertained the lawyers with speeches in the language of the Creek Indians, and travelled with them around the Circuit.
