    1. Re: Help Please (Palmer)
    2. If someone has access to One Family Tree at ancestry.com I would appreciate a lookup. I have been trying to prove out my 2nd great grandfather's parents since 1978 and still have not been able to make a connection to another Palmer family. Though a member to ancestry I do not have access to that particular phase. William Washington Palmer b 1819 GA d 1902 Washington County, Alabama. Parents thought to be John Palmer b about 1792 and married to Nancy unknown maiden although at this point she may even have been a daughter instead of wife. John had 7 children. Four of them we have found information on and they disappear. The other 3 are well documented. Children were: William, Thomas, Lominia, Louisa, Ann Marjorie, Mary and Budley; all born GA, unknown county between 1808 and 1819 though Louisa was born in Alabama abt 1832. They migrated to Washington County, Alabama and Greene County, Mississippi. In 1830, 1840 forward they are in Alabama except for Thomas. He was in MS 1840 and 1850; Alabama in 1860 and disappears no trace. There is a land deed for John Palmer in 1835 Alabama, but he is not found after 1840 census so believed he died between 1840 and 1850. Census records also indicate that William's mother father were born in Georgia and the next time you see on the census it will say North Carolina. I have searched North and South Carolina, Virginia, MA and others as possible entry points and still draw a blank. Lominia Palmer married Joseph Conn in November 1854, Alabama and disappears; no trace of them anywhere. Louisa Palmer married Solomon Cribbs Feb 1860 and also disappears, no trace. One death record says he died in Lamar, Alabama but cannot find on census. Thomas and his wife Elizabeth Maiden unknown and four children are in the 1860 Alabama census and they too disappear. Budley Palmer we never were able to find a marriage; he died between 1860 and 1880. Ann Marjorie Palmer married Frederick Koen; well documented. Mary Palmer married Merriman Joiner aka Mesan Joiner; she apparently died and he remarried in 1840 to Rachel Jones; they too documented. Nancy Palmer stays on the Washington County, Alabama census 1850, 1860, 1870 and believed to have died between 1870 and 1880 as she is not on the 1880. William's grandmother (info just found) indicates his grandmother may have been Ann Palmer but this is on a receipt found and none of us know who Ann Palmer is. Unless of course, John's fatjer was married to Ann unknown (may be Smith) and Nancy Palmer was a daughter. Part of the problem may be that information at LDS Family History is incorrect on William; not all, but some and have not been able to have them correct. Information on some of his children is also incorrect. I hope someone can help to solve this puzzle. Have everything from 1819 forward and brick wall. I am posted on boards all over the place, various names for Palmer, Conn, Koen, Kahn, Joiner, counties, states and nothing. If you are a Palmer, please take time to see if we may connect some place. Thank you and any input or suggestions appreciated. Mary
