P. S. the title of the law books that have cases in them for the state of Georgia are "Georgia Reports" Don't forget newspapers. They are a great source and they report everything! If something took place in NGA refer to Jimmy Anderson's book on Lumpkin County newspaper extracts. University of Georgia has a great newspaper collection.
I have looked at the University of Georgia website and can not figure out what to look for or where to look for newspaper collection. Margie, Hi. I've used their newspapers on microfilm via Interlibrary loan (ILL). I use this link to see what newspapers are available: http://www.libs.uga.edu/gnp/titlelist.html I live in Atlanta, and UGA has lent the film for one-week in the past. So, while I have been able to get the film via ILL, I can't get it for long. I do not know if anyone outside of Georgia has gotten the film via ILL. Also, while certain newspapers are available within a date range, you can't count on every issue of that paper being filmed or that the issues will be in chronological order on the film. It depended on what issues were still extant at the time the filming was done, and if additional issues were found, they would add to the film in some cases. For example, the Hall County paper I used last was a pain to work with because it appeared as though issues within the date range for that roll of film were filmed at three different times, making it more likely to miss an issue if you weren't carefully reviewing the film. This may be more info than you were looking for, but I thought I'd share my experience. I LOVE the old papers for the GREAT info in them; but it is slow research, and I do wish I could keep the film longer when I do get it. Best of luck! Hi. One more thing about the newspapers I was able to get via ILL from UGA: I had to view them at my local library; they were not to leave the library premises. Just thought I should be clear in case there are folks out there with their own readers. :-) Judy
