The Van Wert Cemetery Celebration will be on Saturday, October 23, 2004 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the old Van Wert Cemetery, Van Wert, GA. Van Wert was the county seat of Paulding County before Polk County was formed in 1851. Then Van Wert became part of Polk County. The oldest "readable" marked grave has a death date of 1821. Come and see what all has been done to preserve this historic cemetery.
