Thanks for your prompt reply, yes I have them on the Catoosa census of 1880. I have not been able to find Alma on the 1870 census, I am think she was at home in Atlanta with her family. I found David C. living alone in Atlanta and working for the Railroad at that time. . I think they married later that year, or in 1871 or 2, since Lela was born in 1873, but these dates are conjecture. My grandmother, ( her daughter) wrote they were married by Clement Evans in the Evans Chapel in Atlanta, but did not put the date. Not only do I not have the date of the wedding by there is no record of Alma's father anywhere, and I do not know his first name. I know she was born in Clanton, Georga in 1851..( no record due to the burning of the courthouse in the Civil War), and the family moved to Atlanta about 18959 and apparently were living there during the burning of Atlanta etc. Regards, Betty -----Original Message----- From: ATK'sgrannie [mailto:gnw@rose.net] Sent: Wednesday, August 18, 2004 10:56 AM To: GA-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [GA-Roots] Kendricks/Stephens Perhaps since they are on the 1880 Census there, they married in Catoosa County and that is why you have not found the info. 1880 Census Place Wood Station, Catoosa, Georgia Family History Library Film 1254137 NA Film Number T9-0137 Page Number 206B Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace David KENDRICK Self M Male W 30 GA Farmer GA GA Alma KENDRICK Wife M Female W 29 GA Keeping House GA GA Lela KENDRICK Dau S Female W 7 GA GA GA Edward KENDRICK Son S Male W 5 GA GA GA Alma KENDRICK Dau S Female W 3 GA GA GA --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
