Betty, Bethel is the English rendition of the Hebrew, Beth-El, meaning House of God...In bygone times, people gave meaningful names to their children, either from the Bible, the Classics, Royalty, famous military men, respected members of their family, etc., hoping the child would grow up, emulating that famous person...Nowadays it often is some cute sounding catch word...and the kid grows up to be a renegade. Bethel is not that uncommon. >From: Betty R Lovell <sue116@ragland.net> >Reply-To: sue116@ragland.net >To: GA-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [GA-Roots] Bethel >Date: Tue, 30 May 2000 23:38:37 +0000 > >Are there a church or place in and around Atlanta Georgia that is named >Bethel?
