My great grandfather Caleb T Greer was born in Rome or Greene County Georgia on 4 November 1833, to Nancy Hester Sappington and Jesse Mercer Greer. He married sisters Martha J Edmondson in Greene County, Ga on 5 November 1856 and Amanda Edmondson in Morgan County, Ga. on 18 Dec 1864. He and Martha J had four children: Amanda, Jesse, Mary and John. Martha J died when the children were young; they are found on the 1870 Walton County, Ga Census with Amanda, age 30 and Caleb Greer, age 34. Jesse and John are males. In 1880, he and a brother John Henry Greer and their families including Amanda Greer and the children born to Amanda and Caleb migrated to Claiborne Parish La. Later a sister Mary Frances Young and her family excluding her husband, joined them in the Hurricane Community of Claiborne Parish, La. Caleb and Amanda raised a large family with the majority of them living and dying in the Hurricane Community. I am trying to identify the three children by Martha J., namely Mary, Jesse and John who did not come to North Louisiana with the father. Amanda married Joseph Miles in Georgia and was later found in Sibley, Webster Parish, La where she, her husand and some of her children are buried. I also would like to identify the father and mother of these two Edmondson sisters; believe he was named William Edmondson; I do not know the mother's name. Can anyone help me with any of this info.
