I recently was visiting Georgia and picked up a piece of information Fort King George. The brochure lists some of the officer's names but not the rank and file. Also long was the fort used for military before becoming a sawmill operation? I am interested in the forts in and around the SE Georgia area--because of a wild hunch that a couple of my ancestors were military --- it didn't take much more than a thought of drop of a hat to these guys to sign up judging from the military rosters.
