Hi Diane and List Members, I am searching for any information on ASKEW in Wilkes County. According to a gg-uncle, his ASKEW grandfather came to Wilkes County, GA from VA in 1814. He said that Wilkes County was made up almost "exclusively of Virginians." This ASKEW was said to have become "a county officer in Wilkes and died in 1822." His son, Henry James Askew, was born a year earlier, in 1821. No Askew is listed on the 1820 census in Wilkes County, and I haven't been able to document the above information which came from GA Men of Mark. Thanks for your kind look-up offer. Mitzi
