    1. Re: [GA-Roots] Look up on Census 1820
    2. Charles, Thanks for the reply. I have very little on my Moore line. My great-grandmother was Sarah J. (Sallie Ann) Moore. She was born in FL (maybe in Leon or Gadsden Co.) in 1849; married 1st a Mr. Alderman and 2nd Albert Booth McElvy in 1875 in Gadsden Co, FL. They lived in Gadsden Co. until her death in 1905. Her parents were Charles (Charlie) Moore and Elizabeth J. King. Elizabeth was born in SC in 1824. I know nothing about Charles. They had a son names Charles E. Moore, born in the mid 1840s. This is all I have. Charles could have been from GA or SC. I just don't know. Elizabeth was without a husband in the 1860 Gadsden Co, FL census and she remarried in 1861. I don't know if he died or if they divorced or what happened to him. My McElvy and Moore families have close ties to gadsden Co, FL and Decatur Co, GA. Any thing sound familiar? Settled in the Screven, Effingham Cos. area and my Dad "Charles Ellis Moore" born 1879 in SC passed away in Sav'h 1953. I've known several C.E.M. most of these were in the Sav'h area. Let me know.
