    1. Re: [GA-Roots] Ga. Death Certificates
    2. Hi, I need some help. My grandfather died in 1965, in Hartwell, GA. Should not be a bad year for research right? I needed a DC for him. I contacted Vital Records, and they have no record of him. I contacted the funeral home and they had sold the funeral home and the old records destroyed. He was a farmer all of his life and did not have social security. Any one have any ideas on how to find out if there is a DC out anywhere? Thanks, Pat

    3. Probate Court in the county which would be Hart County that an individual lives in usually retains some records before they are required to send them to Vital Records. The Probate Judge's telephone number for Hart County is 706-384-2403.
