You can try searching this site for the US Geographic Name Information Survey at http://mapping.usgs.gov/www/gnis/ This is a location database with both current and historical references that is very handy to bookmark when searching for townships and other locales that have disappeared over time. The most promising information is Wellington Manor in Fayette County, GA. It is listed as a Populated place but does not elaborate on the nature of the locale.
