At a lecture at the National Genealogical Conference in RI last month, a speaker talked about how he found English records in a library manuscript collection in Kansas. He went on to talk about the collection, but the really big point was to check out manuscript collections of your local libraries. The Lawrence University, Kansas collection has over 300,000 loss papers and around 10,000 of them on the Kaye family from England. In the Kaye papers were also mentioned the families of Dean, Norton, Copley, Armitage, Nettleton, Lockwood, Saltinstall, Appleyard, Berry, Cook, Hepworth, Wentworth, Heighe, Stowe, Bailey, Trappell and Hutchinson - among the few. Just a reminder that you never know where you can find documents. Lynda
