    1. [GA-Roots] Kentucky Derby won by family member

    3. Hi all, My father, now deceased, told me many years ago that his relative (? Uncle) was involved in the ownership of a horse which won, I think, the Kentucky Derby. There is a triple crown of big races so it might be one of the others. Story goes that after they paid the Trainer, Jockey, etc etc there was just enough money left to pay the entry fee for the next BIG race, and the horse didn't win that one and all the money was gone. Nothing's changed eh! Anyway, is there a gene out there who is also a racehourse lover who might be able to look up results of the BIG races for me and see if there was a Kitchen/s involved and pass on the details? 3. Mick, This address has a list of the winners of the Kentucky Derbys, but only the horse's name - which would not help you unless you happened to recognize it from something your father said: http://sports.excite.com/rah/info/derbywin This page will give you the trainers and jockeys for the Belmont Stakes: http://sports.excite.com/rah/news/000526/sl-sports-rah-2412024 This one lists the horses' names only, for the Preakness: http://sports.excite.com/rah/info/preakwin I don't know of any that list the owners. Sorry. Joe Jones Orangeburg South Carolina www.joejones.com
