Hello Everyone I am new to the mailing list. While reading over some of your post I am almost ashamed to add what I am looking for. Everyone seems pretty well into the 1800's or earlier while I can not seem to get out of the 1900's. But maybe just maybe by posting to this group it will help me get over my brick wall. I am looking for my gggrandmother her name according to the census was Kacinda but my family always called her Cassie. Also according to the census she was born in GA but I am having a hard time finding her in the census 1900 and earlier. I know for a fact she was living in DeKalb county GA in the census years 1910 and 1920 but I am not sure I have found her in 1900 or not and before that I have not found her at all. She was married twice the first time was sometime before 1895. She was married to a man with the last name of GUESS. They had 2 children that I know of one was named William G. born around 1895 and the second was James Harrison 4 days after James Harrison was born her first husband went to check his traps and never returned home. SHe did not marry again until after 1900 and then she married a man named James Manoah Bissett from NC. My ggrandfather James Harrison I know changed his last name from GUESS to BISSETT between 1910 and 1920 but he was never legally adopted I am not sure if his brother William did or not. I have found a Cassie Guess in 1900 but her boys are not with her and was thinking that she may have left them with her family while she worked to support them. But I can't find her family. I also think that if her name was Kacinda she did not go by that she went by Cassie all of her life. But here again im not sure of the name Kacinda. Maybe Cassandra or something. I have also found a marriage record of a Cassie Alexander and Thomas Guess in April of 1890 in Fulton Co GA. But I can not prove that these are my people or not. If anyone out there has any kind of information or can offer any advise pleas let me know. This has become a very important thing for me all my life I thought I was a BISSETT whom I have already researched and now for about a year and a half I have known that the BISSETT blood does not even flow through my veins. Thanks ahead of time. Tami

Tami, Please don't ever be ashamed of something like this. I know how hard it is to make a connection, I have been trying for 2 years now to connect with the other EVATTs in Ga,SC,TX,ARK,etc. And I know that one of these days someone out there will read my message and I will have my info. It can get very frustrating sometimes, but in the long run I'm sure it will be worth it. We all try to help each other just by reading all the mail we can. We have a very wonderful helper on here who's undying dedication and generocity still amazes me. Thanks to Dee Thompson, I will make a breakthrough one of these days. Hang in there, and welcome to the list, Ginny
