I am looking for any information about James Benjamin Bettis and his father Lee Bettis. Family rumor says that Lee was a full-blooded Cherokee or Creek Indian traveling with his tribe through GA. His tribe was stopped at Polk County GA when he met Polly Arnold and they had two children: James Bettis, @ 1887 and Nancy Bettis @ 1888. Unfortunaly, that is all I have on Lee Bettis. I don't even know if Lee was his first name or middle or even a nickname. He is the family brick wall. Any information, ideas, or leads will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Sandy
