In 1878, one of my gg grandmothers applied for her husband's service pension and gave her address as Tryon Factory. Tryon Factory is now Tryon, GA, a town which grew up around a factory. Same in Troup Co, GA with Troup Factory, but a town didn't grow there. There was a famous one near Atlanta which Sherman burned in 1864. All of the women employees, which was most since the men were in the army, were shipped north of the Ohio River to await the end of the war. Many never returned and were never heard from again. Now, I got off on a tangent. But your Georgia Factory was probably just a factory which may or may not have supported a town. Good luck. Jimmy Woodyard >
