I don't know the history of the names but their locations and maps of same are found on the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) at this URL: http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form Type in the feature name which in this case is "factory" and choose Georgia as the state.
