This John Driver is brother to my great-great-great-Grandfather [George Washington Driver] whose son, my great-great-Grandfather [William Riley Driver] was born in Ware County, Georgia. I am extremely interested in finding out about John Driver. John and George served on opposite sides during the War For Southern Independence. AND they each had a son serve with them. Brothers and First Cousins and Uncles! I can only imagine the pain the families living during those times must have felt. John was living in Duval County on the 1860 Census. Apparently John Driver died between 1860 and 1880. Since his wife was living in Bradford County on the 1880 Census with their son, James Madison Driver. I want to find out WHERE John died. In Duval County? Or had they moved again? I have some documents I found in Hamilton County, Florida courthouse that were transacted in 1854 and 1856, I can't make much sense of them because I could not get a good 'complete' copy. There are six partial pages, and at $1.00 per copy and me with so many other things I needed that day....I will have to return another day. ;-) The fact that I found my ggg-grandparents marriage license in Hamilton County as well [George Washington Driver and Susannah Griffin], gives me hope that I might uncover some little tidbit about them, if I can find out more about John and his family.
