Is anyone working on the Ray family that was found in Meriwether Co as early as the 1830s? I am trying to prove that Martha RAY b. 13 Oct 1818 in GA & Anna RAY, b. ca 1819 in GA were sisters. Any leads out there? Also, IF they are sisters, are they related to George Austin RAY and his 1st wife, Rebecca McLAIN? Martha married James WINDOM ca 1837 most likely in Meriwether Co. Anna married Francis NIXON 2 March 1837 in Meriwether Co. Francis Nixon and his son, Thomas W. Nixon, both appear on the estate settlement for George Austin Ray filed in Meriwether Co in 1858-1859. Also, Francis & Anna (Ray) Nixon (#444-444)are found two families over from George A. Ray (#446-446) in the 1850 census. James & Martha (Ray) Windom have relocated from Meriwether to Coweta Co by the 1850 census. Thanks!
