    1. Brick Wall That I Have Run Into Over In Coffee County, Georgia
    2. Larry Spires
    3. On the 1920 Coffee County Census, Riley Bailey was living in house with Warren Spires. Riley Bailey was age, 70, with wife, Amanda, age, 50, and son, Leonard, age, 17. In the 1930 Census of Coffee County I cannot find him. So he must have died somewhere between 1920 and 1930. I was told by my grandmother that he is buried over at Deberry Baptist Church Cemetery in an unmarked grave next to his wife Amanda "Bryant" Bailey. The only name I know him by is "Riley Bailey", and cannot find him in the Georgia Death Index and the funeral home cannot find his funeral card information. I would like to know how to find out his death date? Does anyone know if Deberry Baptist Church over in Coffee County, Georgia keeps records of the people buried in the cemetery? Larry Spires

    3. Debbie, I haven't proved it yet but I think there is a connection HOLSOMBACK, HOLSONBACK, HOLSONBAKE and HOLZENDORF, HOLTZENDORF. I have a website on MyFamily.com with over 100 researchers of the HOLSOMBACK surname, of course there are over 90 variations of the spelling of my surname so if you are interested I would like to pursue a search for a possible connection. These panoramas offer an overview of the nation, its enterprises and its interests, with a focus on the start of the twentieth century when the panoramic photo format was at the height of its popularity. The images date from 1851 to 1991 and depict scenes in all fifty states and the District of Columbia. More than twenty foreign countries and a few U.S. territories are also represented. 3. Still looking for info on these families...and any allied family contact...thanks for taking the time to read this...any teeny tiny clue/lead would be hugely appreciated...gail harris JOHN WILLIAM HARRIS (misc info (some not verified/documented) as of 26 October 2002 / bgh) Born 8 May 1855 in South Carolina / Died 7 Nov 1918 in Pasco County, Florida / Buried in Dukes Cemetery, Groveland, Lake County, Florida Parents listed on Death Certificate: Father - (john?) William Harris, born South Carolina Note - think john was later added - may not be accurate I suspect his father is William H. Harris, possible oldest son of William & Celia Roberts Harris who migrated from Colleton County, South Carolina (1850 Census) to Polk County, Florida (1870 Census). This William H. Harris is an entirely different "hunt" & have found lot of info on him, which indicates he was a very colorful character & the "ladies" man & probably a bigamist. Mother - (given name unknown) Langdale, born South Carolina Note - I suspect that his mother is Elizabeth "Betsy" Caroline Langdale, daughter of John & Jane Guthrie Langdale.found the Langdale's on the 1850 & 1860 & 1870 & 1880 census for Colleton County, SC.also found Wm. H. Harris & wife, Elizth C., & son, William, & daughter, Jane, on the 1860 census for Colleton County, SC, living next door to the Langdale' s.found "William Harris, age 16, living with Langdale's on the 1870 census.family rumor is that William H. Harris returned from the civil war & found his wife & daughter dead - possibly murdered during the war.he & his son then migrated to Florida - probably to Polk County, where William & Celia Roberts Harris had homestead, along with their daughter, Sarah Ann Harris who married John W. Costine. Spouse: Nancy C Watson born 1855? in Georgia (daughter of William Jordan & Susan Wilson Watson) Date of Marriage: 6 Nov 1879 in Sumter County, Florida John W & Nancy C Harris on 1880 Census for Sumter County, Florida John & Nancy Harris & their children on 1885 Florida State Census for Sumter County, Florida Children with Nancy C. Williams of Larkin, Florida Spurgeon McDuffie of Port Tampa, Florida Mrs. J. W. Harris of Mascott, Florida Note: I have been unable to find this family on the 1900 census for Florida.either they were omitted, living with another Harris family, the surname is totally misspelled, not in Florida at that time, or as I really suspect - the entire family was abducted by aliens.it is a huge mystery for me.I have additional info on marriages, cemeteries, etc. not posted here. Updated 121602 **041404 update: have since discovered that Tryphenia Wilson is the daughter of G. M. T. Wilson aka George Milford Troup Wilson.he is the brother of Susan Wilson.so Nancy C Watson & Tryphenia Wilson are 1st cousins.the Watson & Wilson families are from Lowndes/Irwin/Brooks county area of Georgia.migrated to Florida.Wilson family on the 1880 census for Orange Co, FL.Watson family on 1880 census for Sumter Co, FL.

    1. Veterans' History Traceable Online

    3. fyi... Apr 13, 2004 Veterans' History Traceable Online The Associated Press WASHINGTON - Sally Naporlee turned to the Department of Veterans Affairs to find out more about her grandfather, who served during World War I. After a few weeks' wait for a response, Naporlee learned from the department that Carmelo Castorina is buried at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, N.Y. Unexpectedly, she also learned that her grandmother is buried with him, a privilege extended to veterans' spouses. The VA has made it easier and faster for the public to get answers about family history, old war buddies or famous war heroes. The agency put on the Web 3.2 million records for veterans buried at 120 national cemeteries since the Civil War. The VA's Nationwide Grave site Locator, www.cem.va.gov, also has records for some state veterans cemeteries and burials in Arlington National Cemetery since 1999. Joe Nosari, VA deputy chief information officer for Memorial Affairs, said the records used to be on paper and microfilm. Private companies have put some of the information online and charged for it, but the VA information is free, he said. Naporlee, of Spokane, Wash., also learned her grandfather served with the Army's 161 DB unit, enlisting June 24, 1918. He was honorably discharged Dec. 17, 1918. The VA's navigator includes names, dates of birth and death, military service dates, service branch and rank if known, cemetery information, and grave location in the cemetery. The VA will withhold some information, such as next of kin, for privacy purposes. The site will be updated daily. Annually, about 80,000 veterans are buried at national cemeteries. The VA also hopes to add records for veterans whose families requested grave markers from the VA. Those markers may go to private cemeteries or cemeteries overseas.
