Family lore is that our ancestors (pre 1800) were cow hearders in the Carolinas. They settled in Laurens County, GA in the very early 1800s and did have a goodly number of cattle. My thinking is that if I can identify their brand in GA, I might be able to find that same brand in SC or NC. Knowing that info might help me find the parents of John, Hester, Henry, and Eli CLARK. Sandra Sandra; we found our family cattle brands (four of them) same last name in which each was changed just a little; at the court house in county in Alabama where we were looking for other documents. They kept a lot of records in the basement; so hopefully you could check with GA court house or the county you are looking in to see if they have such. Mary

    1. Kesler reunion in Franklin Co
    2. CCMILLER
    3. This year the KESLER reunion will be on 1 August i.e. the first Sunday in August. Activities will begin as usual 10:30 AM at the Prospect Methodist Church in Franklin Co GA. The church service will be by Rev. Dennis KESLER and singing by his famous family of gospel travelers. Dinner will be a spread of everybodys covered dishes placed together in the fellowship hall and we can talk at lunch about whatever you want to talk about.... maybe your family history? Then a short business meeting. Then there will be a memorial of Civil war soldiers in the church and local cemeteries in the general vicinity where we will place iron crosses on the graves of these soldiers and there will be military people providing the 21 gun salutes etc. Boyce Kesler Edwards is in charge of that portion of the ceremonies and she has it all on track, I believe. Directions: From Atlanta go north on I-85 about 76 miles to Martin Bridge Road exit. Exit to left across the highway and you are now heading due north on Ga Hiway 63, continue on 63 until it dead ends into Hiway 184, turn right then about 1/4 mile on right is Prospect Church Road, turn right again and the church is about 1 mile on your left. That is in the tri county corners of Franklin, Banks and Stephens counties. Come, bring your lunch in a covered dish and smile all the way. Charles I'm about as organized as a chickenhouse full of chickens. 7 times in the Bible God has commanded us to Honor our fathers and mothers. How can we do that if we are not genealogists and know who our mothers and fathers are? 3. Mea culpa! OK, I need to slow down. :-) I found the transcription using the FTP site of the GA Gen Web. For those like me who may think the transcription didn't make it to your county's Web site, go to http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ and click on the FTP site for Georgia then drill down from there by clicking on the county, the item of interest (in my case, census), the year, and so forth until you get the actual data from the ftp site. Pretty nice of Bob Torbert to have done that transcribing! Judy
