    1. Hunting a Reeves Cousin
    2. I need to find a cousin, possibly a second cousin, as my first cousins, I feel must be dead by now, they were somewhat older than I was and I am 80 now. I think their children would be in the over 50 generation now. The surname is Reeves. Their father would have been John or Antone Reeves and their grandfather would be Antone, who worked at the Atlanta Water Works for many years. Antone who worked at the Atlanta Water works was a younger brother to my father. I have tried calling Reeves at random that I found on the internet but so far I haven't made a connection. The last I talked to Antone was in the early 1980 before 1986. He was living somewhere around Lilburn -- or in that direction. I am looking for a male, that has the father to son blood line, for a DNA Test that the Reeves List is sponsoring. The project is just getting started and I won't be able to participate unless I find a male cousin, a female DNA just wouldn't work. Thank You............ Beulah Reeves McCain GrannyMc@aol.com

    3. I know that in some parishes in Louisiana cattle and pig brands were registered in the courthouse. My daughter found a cattle brand registered for my great-grandfather. ----- Original Message ----- From: "sandy" <slsamz@charter.net> To: <GA-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, July 15, 2004 5:18 PM Subject: [GA-Roots] Brands on cows > Could someone share with me the method I should follow to find cow brands and the owners name associated with that brand? Family lore is that our ancestors (pre 1800) were cow hearders in the Carolinas. They settled in Laurens County, GA in the very early 1800s and did have a goodly number of cattle. My thinking is that if I can identify their brand in GA, I might be able to find that same brand in SC or NC. Knowing that info might help me find the parents of John, Hester, Henry, and Eli CLARK. 1. Bks w/Newspaper Clippings
    2. If anyone has books with newspaper clippings would you please look for one that would include the Sandersville Herald, (Washington County, Ga.) We found this info while at a library: "Emanuel County, (Ga.) was without a newspaper in mid-1876. However, one county resident, who signed his name "Once a month." regularly reported the local news to the Sandersville Herald. In a column dated June 22, 1876 .... )." I was hoping this "once a month" person had sent info in to this newspaper telling of the murder of Daniel B. CANNADY/KENNEDY by Richard Jackson BULL. We evidently didn't copy the cover page and I can bearly make out the book title. It looks like, "Collections of the Emanuel Historical Preservation Society by James Dorsey." I do believe there was another book with Washington County Newspaper Clippings. Thanks in advance for any help. Claudia
