I'm still learning how to get things done around the house and in the world with a 5mos old - something new and exciting each day. If you have the wright's (Frank H.) you will find his wife sarah ... we found her maiden name by looking at census pages where we found her mother and sister living with them and obtained the maiden name from them. :) those sneaky relatives! How do you connect with all these surnames? I do not have any Moseley's in my data. I'd love to exchange details. thank you for your response ... meredith >From: "Ava Moseley" <mos131@bellsouth.net> >Reply-To: GA-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com >To: GA-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [GA-Roots] Re: Meredith MaGuirk, Ga Families >Date: Fri, 19 May 2000 00:18:44 -0400 > >Hi Meredith, >I am not sure if we have corresponded before, I have the above names in my >families that you listed with the exception of Jarrett, which at one time, >I >thought I had and can not now find. > >would love to hear from you. >Ava [neeDavis] Moseley > >Do you have one too many B's in you e-mail address? > >The original message was received at Fri, 19 May 2000 11:50:38 -0400 (EDT) >from host-209-215-51-45.mcn.bellsouth.net [209.215.51.45] > > ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- ><im52iobblu@hotmail.com> > > > > >==== GA-ROOTS Mailing List ==== > Faye Dyess fdy@gate.net Listmanager >Thou shalt check thy spelling and thy grammer. >Searchable Archives at: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl > ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

    2. George Stuart
    3. As I have a 'Seaborn Jones' Miller born in Jackson Co., Ga. near Athens on 26 June 1822, I would be very interested to hear how the name originated. Please post answers to the list. George Stuart Subject: [GA-Roots] Seaborn Jones Date:Sat, 17 Jun 2000 14:34:34 EDT From:Jimcece@aol.com To: GA-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com In WFT there are only seventy-two people with the name of Seaborn Jones. Most of the people with that name are from Georgia a few from Oklahoma and a few from Tennessee and Alabama. My gg grandfather was named Seaborn Jones Shy and I know of no Jones in the family so I have to assume that he was named for a man named Seaborn Jones. Through Greene County Roots I find that there are others named for a Seaborn Jones. My thinking is that since the first Seaborn Jones given names appeared between 1795 and 1805 that a Seaborn Jones might have been some type of locally famous Revolutionary soldier. I have found that there is a man by that name buried in St. Pauls Cemetery in Augusta who served in the war. Does anyone have any knowledge of this or any other Seaborn Jones that so many people could have been named for.

    2. Janice
    3. Hello Georgia, I am researching the STEVENS name for a family tree history. =============================================== -----Are you related to this family of STEVENS : ? =============================================== 1. Merle Carey STEVENS*, b.1895, Alabama -- d.(-?-) (-?-) Merle C. was the [only] son of: 2. George W. STEVENS, b.1859, Alabama -- d.1923, Alabama married Cora Lee (Mickle) STEVENS, b.1859 (?)--d.1945, Oklahoma, and later buried in Roanoke, Alabama George W. was the #3 son of: 3. Wilkins B. STEVENS, b.1802, NC(?) -- d.1873, Alabama Henrietta Hanson-Hill (Pound) STEVENS, b. 1823, Georgia d.1901(?), Hawthorne, FL & buried in Rock Mills, AL. Wilkins' & Henrietta's FOUR sons: #1 William; #2 James and then #3 *George W. and finally #4 Milton S. The #2 son, James married Amanda(?), and had a daughter, Lillian STEVENS who married a Rev. Aulick and they later lived in Plainview, Texas. The oldest daughter of Wilkins and Henrietta, Amelia Isabella [m.Sharman] was the third child of Wilkins and Henrietta. Their next daughter was the fifth child named Clarissa [m.Wilson]. _____________ *Merle Carey STEVENS had worked in the Macon, GEORGIA area in the early 1920s as a Telegrapher and/or for a Broker or A Brokerage. He married Margaret Colson, 1926, in NY City, a daughter was born in NY City in 1927---and later a son born in 1931 in SC. Merle Carey STEVENS worked in Anderson, SC for a Brokerage and disappeared from there about 1933/34. There was no trace of him after his disappearance in 1933/34 and his disappearance was taken more seriously when he never showed up for his Mother's funeral in Roanoke, Alabama, Jan. 1946. It was, then, that family members presumed him dead afterward, but did not know where or what happened to him. His son ( who was less than 2 years old at the time of Merle's "dis- appearance") recently left a Last Will & Testament that would be very good news to surviving family descendants of Merle Carey STEVENS. [[[ Note: The SSDI shows two Merle (?) Stevens b.1895: died in Amity, PA and the other died in Erie, NY---but neither are the Merle Carey STEVENS that I am searching for---as the middle names are not 'Carey'. ]]] ---------------------------------------------------------------- [ If anyone of the above are related to you, or if you have [ some information to add to what is given here, it is very [ important you contact: [ Janice e-mail : momo7@sover.net ------------------------------------------------------------------ PLEASE NOTE: I am not selling anything and this quest for information is purely for genealogical purposes only. Also, if I have any information that may be useful to you concerning these people, then I will be glad to release/exchange it FREE. And, if anyone claims to be related to these STEVENS, then, I ask for some sort of ' proof ' --the importance only relates to his son's Last Will & Testament--all of which can be discussed at a later and proper time. I apologize for being particular, but I feel I should enforce some shell of "privacy" for the Living--and those who care. ------Janice momo7@sover.net ============================================
