Hi, I have a web page full of FREE genealogy items found on the net. Stop by and find your free treasure. Freebies for Genealogists: http://www.imagin.net/~tracers/freebies.htm Happy Searchin' Brenda
When posting requests to the list for census lookups, please provide the county if you know it, since there is no state census per se. I have a number of the records and am always happy to do lookups, but just don't have time to go through all of them each time, esp if the requester already knows the county. Thanks.
Sharon If you have the 1910 Emanuel County Census could you look for a FLETCHER family with wife named Alma. One of the children would be named Willie. Thanks in advance, Claudia
If anyone has a Ga. census record for 1870 #291, will you please be so kind as to look up my grgrandfather William L. EVATT. This would mean a lot to me as I cannot get any farther in my history without finding out what his father's name was. Also desperately want to find his mother Mary's maiden name so I can continue my research. W.L. had a brother George W. and a sister Ola Lee. I believe they were all born in Ga. There are tons of EVATTs on the net, but I can't make a connection. If anyone has any suggestions, Please let me know. I need all the help I can get. Thank you so much, Ginny
I missed it too. Is lonnie Rackley or John Rackley Listed, Betty

I would really appreciate a look-up from this book also, if someone has the time and is willing to do so. I've an ancestor (white) that was murdered by the KKK. I do not know the reason why but would appreciate anything I might could learn if he was included in this book. Please email me for the name and time frame if a look-up is possible. The Community of Slaughterville is not a town at all, but a rural community. The CSX Railroad, which traverses the community has a siding which is clearly marked with a sign "SLAUGHTERVILLE". I would presume that at some point the community had its own post office, as was the practice in by-gone times. The community is located on Hwy. 82 between Waycross and Hoboken, Ga. I am uncertain as to whether it is in Ware County, or in Brantley County. My recollection is that it is located at or near the boundary between the two counties. Waycross is the nearest city, and I would expect has a local Historical Society. You might contact the local newspaper (Waycross Journal Herald)at (912) 283-2244 ask them for info on how to contact the local Historical Society. If you fail to make a local contact in the area, let me know and I will see if I can help get you in touch with someone who has knowledge of local history. I lived and worked in this area for almost 20 years, and still have contacts there. Vernon Holt ----- Original Message ----- From: D. Sent: Wednesday, July 05, 2000 4:09 PM Subject: [GA-Roots] Slaughterville Slaughterville is between Waycross and Hoboken, Ga.
If you will allow an interloper to interject, I will mention that there is a rural community lying just East of Waycross, Ga. called Slaughterville. This implies that the early settlers there were predominately Slaughters. This is not Clinch County, but is relatively close. The Slaughterville Community lies near the Ware County, Brantley County line. If you are unable to satisfy your needs in Clinch County, you might broaden your search to Ware and Brantley Counties.
