I used to have this website but lost it along with all the other good stuff I had when computer went down. Can anyone help me with this web site? FTM had two separate websites, one for doing surname lookups, and the other was the list of volunteers who were willing to do lookups and send the information to you. Many thanks, Roseanna
I have a William Byrd/Bird who married Mary Hutson/Hudson on Oglethorpe county, Ga, 1826.......they ultimately moved to Noxubee county, Ms, where in 1848 William (Billy) Bird was granted guardianship of his own children. Any connection you are aware of? ear
When I read that someone has made a big "find" via the email list I get very excited for them. I seem to be encouraged by this. I also learn some methods for searching. Please do not stop posting to the list. Dearest "P.R.Person", Thank you for the kind words. Tami sounds so discouraged, - I'll see what I can find. In the meantime, yell when you get the Evatts who took a short detour on their way to you. Hello Everyone I am new to the mailing list. While reading over some of your post I am almost ashamed to add what I am looking for. Everyone seems pretty well into the 1800's or earlier while I can not seem to get out of the 1900's. But maybe just maybe by posting to this group it will help me get over my brick wall. I am looking for my gggrandmother her name according to the census was Kacinda but my family always called her Cassie. Also according to the census she was born in GA but I am having a hard time finding her in the census 1900 and earlier. I know for a fact she was living in DeKalb county GA in the census years 1910 and 1920 but I am not sure I have found her in 1900 or not and before that I have not found her at all. She was married twice the first time was sometime before 1895. She was married to a man with the last name of GUESS. They had 2 children that I know of one was named William G. born around 1895 and the second was James Harrison 4 days after James Harrison was born her first husband went to check his traps and never returned home. SHe did not marry again until after 1900 and then she married a man named James Manoah Bissett from NC. My ggrandfather James Harrison I know changed his last name from GUESS to BISSETT between 1910 and 1920 but he was never legally adopted I am not sure if his brother William did or not. I have found a Cassie Guess in 1900 but her boys are not with her and was thinking that she may have left them with her family while she worked to support them. But I can't find her family. I also think that if her name was Kacinda she did not go by that she went by Cassie all of her life. But here again im not sure of the name Kacinda. Maybe Cassandra or something. I have also found a marriage record of a Cassie Alexander and Thomas Guess in April of 1890 in Fulton Co GA. But I can not prove that these are my people or not. If anyone out there has any kind of information or can offer any advise pleas let me know. This has become a very important thing for me all my life I thought I was a BISSETT whom I have already researched and now for about a year and a half I have known that the BISSETT blood does not even flow through my veins. Thanks ahead of time. Tami

I am looking for a death or burial record for Allen H. Murdock, d abt 1832, I'm guessing because he voted in Cherokee Co. 1832 and his orphaned children were taken in by relatives in 1832. However, in this year persons living in Cherokee Co. were divided up into several other counties for census purposes, right? So, I'm not even sure where to begin to look for his death record, if there is one. thanks, Marsha -- Ford House http://www.cybertrails.com/~meandsteve "Let the redeemed of the earth say so..." Greetings - thought I would let those who are interested, we just updated our files at FamilyTreeMaker web site. Lots of old data from our hard copy files . . . the new entries nearly doubled the head count . . . And we still got a long ways to go. http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/h/e/d/Kenneth-G-Hedgpeth/ at the GEDCOM Trees section click on "This is our FTM enteries as of 07/24/2k" This contains what we have entered into our FTM and our Massachussetts families are in here ie. Irving, Brown, Simonds and Low with their many branches . . . We have over to 1700 individuals entered now . . . kgh To get a list of all the individuals in our records here so far, type a "F" key once and then you can scroll through the list to see if I might have who you been looking for. [note: do this after the GEDCOM file has finished loading] . . . Any and all corrections, additions, and deletions are welcome . . .
