    3. My late Wife was an OB-Gyn Nurse and we raised 7 children...3 girls...so, I know that it is possible, and did happen, even today in some areas, but if you check, you will find that most women married in their late teens and early twenties. They were considered spinsters by their late twenties and early thirties...but few married at 11-13... And you might be right, incest may be the culprit for babies raising babies... >From: "Holden Clan" <[email protected]> >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: Re: [GA-Roots] How to calulate ages? >Date: Tue, 22 Jan 2002 18:26:57 -0500 > > > >12 when impregnated; 13 years 8 months at birth... > > > > > Although possible, I would question these dates... > >It's more than possible. 3. Many in this family wondered about this. Dates have been checked. The parents were 23 and 18 when married. They were 41 and 38 when the mother died Jan 27, 1914. The children were dau: 17; son: 11; *dau: 10; son: 8; dau: 5 and dau 2 when the mother died of typhoid fever. Son 11 also had typhoid but survived. 2. Jeanette Martin
    3. Thanks to all for your help. The birthdays of both are unquestionable. Would still like to know about the website that will figure out things like this. What I question is that a traveling preacher at a tent meeting would have married a child that young to a man and without her father knowing about it. She was still 11 when she got pg. Story comes down that she wed at an aunt's house. I think the child had to have been raped which caused her father to sell his farm and move to another county not letting the kin know where they'd move to. Story is that the "husband's" name was forbidden to ever be mentioned and a last name similiar to her maiden name was said to be her married name. Have no proof of marriage, divorce. And she remarried later in life. Wrong, but when a female was raped, blame was put on her and caused loss of face/respect to her and family. vickeryj wrote: > The mother was 12 years, 8 months, and 11 days old when the child was born. > Hope this helps. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Coleman, Pamela" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Tuesday, January 22, 2002 1:20 PM > Subject: RE: [GA-Roots] How to calulate ages? > > > According to just subtraction, she would have been 12 years old when she > had this child.
