She was the daughter of Ishmeal VINEYARD (born in Germany - died in 1799, Elbert co., GA) and Jane HENDERSON (born ? - died 1865 in GA). Jeremiah CASTLEBERRY, born Jan 23, 1765 - died May 27, 1836, Talbot co., GA. Looking for any information on the families of these two people. Thank you! Bill

    3. Looking for parents to James C. or K. COOPER. In all of the census James is listed as James C. According to the CD`s and books pertaining to marriages in GA he is listed as James K. Looking at the GA-CSA records James is listed as James C. COOPER. The middle initial whether C. or K. is more than likely for Cannon or Kannon. No proof. But, looking at the 1850 GA census with James C. listed in the 88th Division we do find in the same 88th Division the following: -------------------------------------------------------------------- Arthur COOPER, 81 years, farmer, born GA -------------------------------------------------------------------- Blake J. COOPER, 47 years, farmer, born GA -------------------------------------------------------------------- Lemuel H. COOPER, 40 years, farmer, born NC -------------------------------------------------------------------- Willis COOPER, 42 years, farmer, born GA -------------------------------------------------------------------- We think the Lemuel H. is relative to Humphrey COOPER of Newton Co GA. It seems the others have ties to Clarke Co GA. Anyone stumble across these families and are privy to their trails ?? We do hear from time to time that we are looking for the COOPER / CANNON line.

    3. i am in hopes of learning her parents and any possible children. i know only that she will mery my gggrandfather in Floyd Georgia in 2 years. and they will head for Denton County Texas. she will die in 1932 on july 31st. she was born 1831 about. according to replies on census statements. she was born in georgia. and gave her mother as born in Georgia. her father seam to bounce a bit. NC. and then GA. any help is greatly apreciated. she will merry Albert A. Miler. he was born GA. or SC. and was born about 1830. best wishes sincerly david niswender

    3. Hello Everyone, Please forgive the multiple postings. I am planning a Chester reunion and would like to hear from any Chester's and/or Chester descendants. My family settled in the Gadsden Co, FL area, but I'm sure there are relatives spread out far and wide. Nothing is planned yet, so everything is open for discussion. I had a small reunion last year at a nice park at Lake Jackson, Leon Co, FL (near Tallahassee, FL). We had a covered dish noon meal and shared fellowship, good food, family photographs and genealogy. I'm hoping to find more "cousins" this year. If you're interested, please contact me with your opinion regarding the location, time, etc. Please let me hear from you real soon.     3. Not my line, but found it interesting Peter BALLIOU - vine dresser and hatter - sailed to GA 18 June 1733 and arrived 29 Aug 1733 - he received a lot in Savannah. He was fined 3 Oct 1734 and 7 July 1737 for *seducing slaves to run away*.     3. I am trying to track down descendants of Abel Gower's line. There will be a SAR grave marking ceremony for him later this spring at the Shiloah Baptist church. Abel Gower was born in VA in 1757. He moved to NC and joined the rev. war in 1777. Abel married Elizabeth Johnson in June 1782 in Johns(t)on Co. NC They moved to GA after the rev. war. By 1785 they were in Wilkes Co. Ga, which was later Oglethorpe and then Clarke county. By 1820 they moved to Gwinnett Co. GA where they lived out their life. Abel died on 17 Jul 1841 and is buried in the Shiloah Bap church cemetery over the line in Walton Co. He helped found the church back in the 1820's. Abel's known children are: Robert Maclin, Mary Polly, Reuben, William E., Sara, Nancy, and Phereby. Robert Maclin married 1. Mary Smith and 2. Mildred Terrell Burford in 1826. His children by Mildred are Harriett Delphia, Angelina A., Elia Ann, John M., Phili H., Abel W. D., Mildred Vashti, David Spenser, and Nancy M(aclin?). Nancy was born in 1844 and married Algernon S. Freeman in 1865 in Gwinnett Co. They moved to DeKalb Co. where A. S., as he was known, had a mill, among other things. The Freemans had 7 chidren including a daughter named Talula Angeline born in 1867, She married Winfield Scott Williams in 1882. THey had several children including a son John Sidney. John was born in 1893 and in 1920 he married Jessie Broadwater. Their marriage license was taken out in Fulton Co. GA. The Williams only had one child - Sidney Earle Williams. He became a chiropractor and founded Life University in Marietta, GA. I am researching Dr. Williams line. Lynda Wilson

    3. Hello, I'm researching the Newman name. I find my gggrandmother b. 1796 in Georgia. Next time I find her is in Marion County Ms., 1815, where she: Mary Jane Jenny Newman married Hiram Norman. On the same day May 13, 1815 in the same courthouse in Marion County, a Nancy Newman married James Norman. Hiram and Mary Jane had two maybe three children. Hiram died in 1819, in Amite Co...... Ms. Mary Jane married John Wilson in 1827 in Lawrence co. In 1838 they had a son Rodolphus Wilson. I next found Her head of household on the census of 1840. I don't know if John Wilson died or just up and left. On the marriage license of Mary Jane and Hiram, and the license of Nancy Newman and James Norman, the same Joshua Gates signed for them. One other item, that same year in Oct. 1815 a Thomas Newman married Susannah Norman, in Marion co. Ms. I saw in the 1805 Ms. Territory census there was a William Newman. I know there are other Newmans that came to Mississippi in this time line. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Johnie
