Caroline, There are folks on the Georgia Cemeteries List who have access to the cemetery surveys of Savannah, so I am copying my reply to them, in case someone has more information available on your Chatham County Knights. I am sending the following death listings, partially based on who was still living and indexed in the 1920 census. If they were gone before then, they are not likely to have a death certificate available. (Based on years of birth), I found only one possibility for Allen Knight in the 1920 Georgia census index. He was indexed as Allen A. Knight, age 61, in Glynn County. Also one James Knight of the correct age (72) in Meriwether. The others are possibilities who died in Chatham. Allen A. Knight, died December 9, 1937 in Glynn County - Certificate #31907 James A. Knight, died January 30 1928 in Meriwether County - Certificate #1944-J George R. Knight died November 5, 1920 in Chatham County - Certificate #30712-B William T. Knight died November 15, 1963 in Chatham at age 96 (born 1867) - Certificate #32293 William T. Knight died October 3, 1991 in Chatham at age 96 (born 1895) - Certificate #039391 I would order the death certificates on both the William Knights who died in Chatham - just in case someone gave the wrong age at death. A closer match for your William T., (per year of birth), is: William T. Knight died July 21, 1955 in Gwinnett County at age 66 (born 1889) - Certificate #15897 And - I know this is not the Edmund Knight you need, but perhaps a son or nephew, so am sending it anyhow. Edmund C. Knight died July 20, 1958 in Chatham County at age 57 - Certificate #16959 I didn't find any Lee or Hayward in either the 1920 census or the death index. Sorry. I hope this helps.     3. I have a William R.L. Knight husband of Ollie W. Twilley who was born in Randolph Co., Alabama and died in Columbus, Georgia. If anyone knows about the cemetery he is buried in please let me know.
