I am both an attorney and also a monument builder. The entire monument industry is closing down for the holidays. There are many reasons for missed deadlines, including human error. Mistakes occur, including breakage, that requires starting over from scratch. Once a monument is produced, it may still be delayed due to the schedules of shippers. Typically, monuments will stack up at the shipping company until a truck load is accumulated for a particular area of the country. Patience, communication and courtesy go a long way to resolving concerns. If the company is a member of a professional association you can file a complaint. I recommend against going nuclear except under extreme circumstances. If we can assist you to resolve your concerns contact us and we will see what we can do for you. I am the president of the Georgia Monument Builders Association and I will be happy to assist you. Do you mean the BBB (better business bureau)? Have you given a friendly threat yet? You know, like "I was talking with my attorney the other day, and he/she said it's a shame so-and-so won't have that new stone. My attorney is very sad." Something along those lines that is a threat but not a threat. Other than that and the BBB, I have not a clue. Time to stop being polite, I think, if it's been months. Good luck "S.K. A stone has been ordered from an online company to replace a missing gravestone in one of the cemeteries I work with. There are some issues that have me as well as others concerned. I certainly do not want to mention the company name here and defame them pre-maturely. The problem is a 4 to 6 week delivery date that went by without any notification from them to 8 then 9 weeks, then when contacted twice by two different people I was told I would recieve delivery the first week in Dec. and told one excuse while the paying party was given another reason as to why it was late. Here we are at Christmas week, no stone. Any ideas as to where to find anything online other than the BBS? Thanks. ==== GA-CEMETERIES Mailing List ==== To unsubscribe from this list, send ONLY the word UNSUBSCRIBE to the utility address GA-CEMETERIES-L-REQUEST@ROOTSWEB.COM If you are trying to unsubscribe from the Digest list, use the same utility address but change the -L- to a -D- ============================== Census images 1901, 1891, 1881 and 1871, plus so much more.
