    1. Re: [GA-CEM] Bulloch Co/Lower Lotts Cemetery/Cowart
    2. Hello, I am Betty Jones Nesmith, related to the Rimes/Rhymes of Bulloch & Calhoun Co., GA. The Cowarts are always in my research on my families, maybe in a small way, but everybody knew everybody if not related. Many Cowarts went on to Calhoun Co., a Zachariah Cowart was in Calhoun/Early/Clay Co., GA, they are all connecting at a corner of the counties. Zachariah was a member of the Nevils Creek Baptist Church, Statesboro?, in Bulloch Co., 1814, 1815, 1817. No Kingrey mentioned. He was the only Cowart in the church. See that Zach & Mattie were married in 1883. The Cowart families I refer to had already gone to sw GA. In Calhoun Co., Zachariah & Amaziah Cowart lived quite near my Rimes family. My g grandmother, Margaret Rimes, named two of her sons Amaziah & Zachariah. Always thought there was a connection. Did you find that Zachariah was granted land in Effingham Co., in 1785, that became Bulloch? Have you found out anything from anyone yet? You do know there is a Cowarts, AL, just over the GA line, quite near where all these mentioned Cowarts were? Betty Jones Nesmith in Birmingham My husband's Nesmiths were connected to Bulloch Co. Nesmiths, but he didn't know. My Dad was a Jones, but cannot find any connected with Bridger, Bazel Jones family. Many of that family went to sw GA, also. They carried on the names. Guess there was a giant migration from there to sw GA. Many of the names in Calhoun and surrounding counties cemeteries are the same as the cemeteries in Bulloch. It is amazing.
