    3. Nellie, I can tell you just a bit about the cemetery. The survey that I have online is a complete one unless there are some unmarked graves that no one is aware of. The caretakers of the cemetery (the church) supposedly destroyed the only lists that anyone might have had of who was buried there or that is the answer I got when I started asking questions because I wanted to check the list off against what I had surveyed to see if I had everyone. There is one name on my survey that I did not find in the cemetery and I got the name from the Whitfield County Cemetery book for which the surveys were made back in the 70's. The guy may have had a funeral home marker and it been destroyed by now so that may be why I couldn't find it. Anyway, the land for the church and the cemetery was donated by the Lindsey family from what I was told by Miss Birdie. She had also told me years ago to not worry that I would always have a place to be buried but now the church says no, that anyone other than church members must pay the church for the space. The only ones that I was personally acquainted with were J. R.(Rob) and Miss Birdie. Rob was a hard man to like but Miss Birdie was one of the sweetest people on this earth. I visited with her many times when I was much younger and just wish that I had had enough since to work on genealogy and stuff way back then. I can't really tell you anything about the family but that they were some of the first people to settle out in the Lower Mill Creek area of the county. I also don't know what the relationship to each other the ones buried in the cemetery are except that there is a relationship. 3. I wonder why on earth, a church would destroy any records that important. Makes no sense to me. I know of a elderly woman who was the one enrolling the names of those buried in the cemetery and the church members who has given the record book to someone but does not remember who she gave them too. Sounds to me like she was beginning to have dementia. Anyway, they are the records that have my GG Grandparents and their following generations including my GG Grandmother Alsobrook. My GG Grandfather Alsobrook is the one who gave the land to the church for that cemetery and a church house in Chambers Co., AL. Was this Miss Birdie a Lindsey? Thanks for all the work you have done on this site. I know it is an awesome responsibility. Nellie
