    1. Re: [GA-CEM] Cemetery Software
    2. Bob, I have a program that is called Cem-Editor. It can be found here, http://www.ovs-genealogy.com/ It is a very handy program that can handle any amount of information. It can also handle photos. It is very reasonably priced. Peggy In a message dated 4/3/2006 4:08:18 AM Central Standard Time, gravehunter@triad.rr.com writes: This is also posted on NC-CEMETERIES. The Surry County Genealogical Association has recently voted to create an inventory of all cemeteries in Surry County, NC. Part of this effort, which we believe will take up to 2 years to complete, will include recording the GPS coordinates of each cemetery as well the cemetery name (including aliases), physical location, township, owner, directions, etc. Afterwards, we may begin a longer term project of surveying the cemetery occupants as well, but not at this point. Consequently, we'd like to see if your organization could recommend a good, reasonably priced software package for us to purchase for this project. Without knowing the costs and advantages and disadvantages of the various software products on the market, we're asking professional organizations and other genealogical associations for information for us to decide on purchasing or creating our own program. From what I have seen, it appears many software programs are written in Microsoft ACCESS, and if necessary, we'll write our own program in that format. If your organization could provide any recommendations, we would appreciate a reply. Bob Carter Greensboro, NC
