Congratulations to Whitfield County and Paula Franklin for winning the first Golden Peach Award. The "race" was very close with three counties tied until the last minute. The judges had a very hard decision, but when all the votes were tabulated, Paula and Whitfield County was the winner. The GA AHGP Golden Peach Award is presented to a Georgia County for excellence in ongoing research in History and Genealogy. The Whitfield County site can be found at http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/county/whitfield/ Congratulation Paula for your tireless efforts. Doris, Thank you! I have one Whitfield County Cemetery online that is complete but I am working on info for several more including a lot of photos. If anyone has any information that they would like to contribute they may send it to me and I will post it for them. Whitfield County could not have won this award without the help of a lot of people that are researching their Whitfield County Roots. Hats off to all of them!
