Kemmie, Have you seen the new book by Ken Thomas--Columbus, Georgia in Vintage Postcards? On page 26 there is two postcards of the Clapp Factory, one from 1908 and the other from c. 1910, with a brief history and it mentions the cemetery. Have you checked with the Corp of Engineers about the Oliver Dam project in 1957 which was at the Clapp Factory site? Lynda S. Eller Ancestor Files Research Center
Lynda, I have that book and duh never remembered that picture, since I started this. See I knew that I was doing right by asking for help. I hadn't thought about the Corp of Engineers. I've been reading about cemeteries and other things like that until this point and knew there were other things I could do. . . brain freeze. Thanks the pictures and suggestions are great. kemis ----- Original Message ----- From: Lynda S. Lynda, Since all of this is new to me. . . we are the blind leading those that can't see. . . how or where would I contact the Corp of Engineers? What is the Ancestor Files Research Center? - - asking questions is how I got involved in Clapp Cemetery - since I live in Columbus and the families that I have been working with don't, I am trying to do the local inquiring. Thank you again for the reminder of the Vintage Postcards. BTW on page 25 there is a picture of that was sent in with the Clapp factories. kemis ----- Original Message ----- From: Lynda S.
