Nora-my grandparents moved to SSI in the mid 1930's & my parents moved there in the early to mid 1940's. My middle brother & I were born there also. Both older brothers started 1st grade over at St Simons Elementary School. My grandparents & our family lived on Glynn Haven, just off Frederica Rd. My grandparents ran a "grocery" store there also. My father ran a shore repair shop & a wholesale leather business over in "downtown" Brunswick.
