Susan, That was interesting. Don't know how it applies here in AL, but wish I had known some years ago when we learned a large family plantation once in the family contained a family cemetery. Some of the ancestors were born in the late 1700s and buried on these early 1800 Blount Co., AL grounds. The new owners of the portion of the farm on which the cemetery stood, had had it plowed under, gravestones, too, except for one or two. They stood at a distance, leaning against a tree. It was then a pasture. We were afraid to enter the field, because of a couple of mean looking bulls. No one was at home when we knocked on the owner's door. We never went back. If I get an opportunity to go back, I will check our laws first and be more prepared. Thanks for the info. Betty in Birmingham
