    1. The Dash In Your Life
    2. Bob Carter
    3. I ran across this little poem in some book, and although I can't recall who the author was (or the book for that matter), I trust they would not mind me sharing it with everyone especially at this time of year. As we all gather with family and friends for a celebration of Christmas, let's give an extra measure of thanks to all of our ancestors who came before us and made this country what it is today. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone! Bob Carter Greensboro, NC ------------------------------------------------------ The Dash In Your Life I read of a man who stood to speak At the funeral of a friend He referred to the dates on her tombstone From the beginning to the end He noted that first came her date of birth And spoke the following date with tears But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years (1934 - 1998) For that dash represents all the time That she spent alive on earth And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own The cars...the house...the cash What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash So think about this long and hard Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left That can still be rearranged If we could just slow down enough To consider what's true and real And always try to understand The way other people feel And be less quick to anger And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we've never loved before. If we treat each other with respect And more often wear a smile Remembering that this special dash Might only last a little while So, when your eulogy's being read With your life's actions to rehash Would you be proud of the things they say About how you spent your dash?

    3. Sorry, yes, I meant the BBB. A contact says that they stone may be shipped this week. (Yet another date for delivery). Threats will have to be up to the purchaser which did a masked demand for a firm delivery date.. I think that things may work out, they have had a web prescence since 98. They did have about 3 or 4 BBB Complaints which they settled. Of course there were no compliants when I looked before I refered them. I did hear they were ok and did refer one lady before which was happy. The reason I worry is because I refered them and the person ordering is an outstanding person genuinely concerned about the historic preservation of his family cemetery. > > From: Kimber <scarfyrre@yahoo.com> > Date: 2005/12/21 Wed PM 09:22:58 EST > To: GA-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [GA-CEM] > > Evening :) > > What's the BBS? 3. I am both an attorney and also a monument builder. The entire monument industry is closing down for the holidays. There are many reasons for missed deadlines, including human error. Mistakes occur, including breakage, that requires starting over from scratch. Once a monument is produced, it may still be delayed due to the schedules of shippers. Typically, monuments will stack up at the shipping company until a truck load is accumulated for a particular area of the country. Patience, communication and courtesy go a long way to resolving concerns. If the company is a member of a professional association you can file a complaint. I recommend against going nuclear except under extreme circumstances. If we can assist you to resolve your concerns contact us and we will see what we can do for you. I am the president of the Georgia Monument Builders Association and I will be happy to assist you.
