I think that would be a very good idea. I'm doing that for my local cemeteries, already. Tara > >Tara, > >Would you include transcriptions and photo's of each tombstone? Tara, Although I live just over the state line from GA, I am in SC. Would love to help as much as possible. Transcribing is not a problem for me. However, getting the material would be my problem. I live about 130 miles from Morrow, GA. I agree that we should add those buried in counties or on private property. I am sure that there are a lot of graves now under roads, fields, buildings, etc. I am wondering if it would be possible to include those whose grave sites that are unkn, but families know that they were buried in a certain county. I am in that catagory. Mine was buried, but IF he was buried somewhere in a cemetery, a marker cannot be found. Also, consider the problem that wooden markers do eventually disappear! Maybe another catagory: Unkn burials. Nora -----Original Message----- From: Tara D. There is a book out called, I believe, "Those Men Who Served", and gives graves and known lineages of several N. GA. counties. It can be found at some of the county libraries, or I believe there is a link at the Habersham county Gen Web site as to some references and where you might purchase. Also check with the local chapter of the SCV where you are looking. Much has been done there on restoration of old graves.
