    1. [GA-CEM] Volunteer List
    2. Doris Robbins
    3. The Volunteer list has been uploaded to http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/state/volunteer.html This is a list of people that will do look-ups for others. Many have books that they will search, while other will go to cemeteries to do searches and take photos, while others will go to the Library or Courthouse to do research. There are only three (3) simple rules: 1. Only one (1) request per e-mail. (Husband and wife may be considered as one, IF buried in same cemetery or a Marriage Look-up.) 2. Do NOT send a request for "All the (Surname) listed in the Book!!!" 3. Remember - Many of the volunteers have full time jobs and do the look-ups in their spare time. Be prepared to be put on a waiting list. Be sure to ask about fees in your first e-mail, specially if you are ask for copies of records or photos. Happy Searching!!! Doris Robbins

    3. The Oakland records on Ancestry.com were compiled by a private citizen, Rachel Leigh Grizzle, with no official relationship to the Historic Oakland Foundation (the non profit friends group that raises funds for preserving and restoring the cemetery) or the city of Atlanta. I have been told that Grizzle is the sister of a former sexton of Oakland. She conducted her own cemetery survey and sold her compiled information (without the knowledge or cooperation of either the Foundation or the City) to Ancestry.com. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, February 10, 2002 9:22 AM Subject: Re: [GA-CEM] Cemetery Photos > Oakland Cemetery. 1. Re: [GA-CEM] Cemetery Photos
    2. Dan, I have one suggestion for you. Why don't you go to the UsGenweb Cemetery Project and email the coordinator for that site and ask them to link your site with theres:) Also you might want to consider puting these files in the UsGenweb Archives so all have access to them. Also see if their are other Cemetery projects out there you can link to. Email me privately and I will talk to you more about a few other options. Just my 2 cents worth. How do we best promote these cemetery listings / photos so that all know these are available fro researchers? We had 480 on December 31, and this site is growing like crazy. Dan
